Background & Education

Ms. Burke graduated with Distinction from the University of Michigan in 2001 with a degree in Philosophy and a degree in Linguistics, both with High Honors. She published work in theoretical and corpus linguistics, which she presented at international conferences in each field. Ms. Burke earned her MPhil in Philosophy from University College London in 2004, with a dissertation in the philosophy of language and science. Ms. Burke’s introduction to the legal profession was as an intellectual property and business litigation paralegal in San Francisco. She graduated from University of California, Los Angeles School of Law in 2010 with a specialization in philosophy. At UCLA, Ms. Burke focused on intellectual property in her coursework and participated in the Intellectual Property Colloquium. She has also volunteered with the Reentry Clinic through El Centro Legal. Having been a summer law clerk at the firm, Ms. Burke joined Conkle, Kremer & Engel upon graduation.

Ms. Burke’s legal publications include Intellectual Property Primer in the Association of Trial Lawyers of America Business Torts Section Newsletter. She is a member of the Santa Monica Bar Association and the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles. Ms. Burke is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before federal and state courts in California.
