Background & Education
Mr. Hampton graduated from the University of California, Santa
Barbara in 1986 receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication
Studies. After college, Mr. Hampton worked in the production department
of a local television station. Mr. Hampton then attended Loyola
Law School in Los Angeles where he graduated in 1990. While in
law school, he acted as Chairman of the Loyola Environmental Law
Society and was an editor and staff writer on the Loyola Entertainment
Law Journal. He published a casenote entitled “Anatomy of
a Suicide - Media Liability for Audience Acts of Violence”
in 1989. Upon graduation, Mr. Hampton received the First American
Title Insurance Legal Service Award.
Prior to joining Conkle, Kremer & Engel, Mr. Hampton practiced
in the area of insurance litigation in state and federal court,
including defense of professional liability, bad faith and surety
matters. Mr. Hampton also worked as staff counsel for a national
insurance company based in Calabasas, California where his practice
involved surety, corporate and construction defect matters. At
Conkle, Kremer & Engel, Mr. Hampton's practice has been primarily
focused on business litigation in the state and federal courts,
including matters involving insurance, intellectual property and
unfair competition issues.
